This page is about a problem I have been concerned about for several years. A large amount of farmland is lost daily in this country. Small family farms are disappearing from our landscape and I fear our children will be the ones that are hurt most. When elderly family members pass away often the farms are sold at auction cut down into several small parcels of land rather than selling as a farm or sold to a developer who turns the farm into a shopping center or subdivision.
Most of the pages on this site are about the enjoyment of living on a farm. This one page is about a very serious topic that brings heart-ache to many of us that are living on the family farm that has been passed from one generation to the next and hope to conitinue to share the gift with future generations.
