Sweetie Pie

Sweetie Pie works hard taking care of the goats, helping to water the geese, and guarding our home. She is a little dog with a big attitude.

This is Idabelle our cat. She helps keep the mice under control and doesn't allow stray cats to move in either!

pilgrim geese

We have three breeds of geese. The Pilgrim geese are very mild mannered and a joy to own. This mother hatched 3 females and 2 males this spring. The females are gray and the males are white with gray markings in this breed. They are smaller than the gray toulouse and much quieter.

Well, doesn't look like Idabelle is doing her job. I guess almost every farm has one of these on it. Good Pizza, Bad...

When we take our animals to Ag. days for the McCracken county schools the Mille Fleur chickens are always on of the most popular animals in the exhibit. We will raise one or two in the house every year so that we will have gentle birds when it is time to display them for the children.
Mille Fleur chickens are of the bantam variety and have feathered legs the name comes from the many colors on these chickens. They are very mild mannered and make good pets.

babyrabbit.jpg

This tiny baby was rejected by it's mother. I raised him using a dropper and goats milk with vitamins added. This picture reminds me of the song I was taught in Vacation Bible School "He's Got the Whole World In His Hands". He is a Dwarf Lop Rabbit. Most of my rabbits came from people who no longer wanted them or didn't fully understand the nature of rabbits. You may click on this picture to learn more about Rabbit Rescue programs. I may not agree with everything said in the site but there is some good advice at this site.

Sassy, the name says it all.

Some people say that White Chinese Geese look like swans with their long necks. Our Chinese Geese are excellent guard animals. They are the first to alert us that strangers are in the driveway or that a predatory animal is on the farm. They can pinch and fight with their wings so you don't want to make them angry! They also help weed a garden.Click on picture for a link to more information about raising ducks and geese.

This is an older picture of Whiskers with Nellie. Nellie is no longer with us but she will always be remembered.
Nellie was with us for 17 years and was a very special member of the family.

Babydoll Sheep always have a smile on their face. For more information on them please click on the picture.

emu.jpg

Kentucky Turkey? Big Chicken? This is a picture of our big birds. The Emu we enjoy watching these birds run...OK, they are native to Australia but there are several Emu farms in Western Kentucky. Click on the picture to connect to another Emu farm.

gwenrunning.jpg

Gwen, Randy's dog? She loves to go with me everywhere, and is protective of the animals. If I don't remember to open the gate for her she jumps fences to go with me, if put in a field she stays there. Gwen is a very loving dog we are happy to adopt her into the family.

No we don't have elephants. A few years ago one of our friends had a dream that he was in the truck with my husband driving across Missouri to pick up miniature elephants. So the elephant was added here for our friend Frank.
